Day 0 - Getting Ready
So we call this Day 0. Our flight doesn't leave until tomorrow (June 15) at noon, but we don't like to feel rushed or under pressure, so today we packed up and headed for a hotel near the Toronto Airport. This way we don't have to worry about traffic and we don't have to wake up at stupid o'clock.
We drove to our close friends home where we will leave our car for the time we are away. The parking rates were much better at their place and it was a close 3 minute drive to the commuter trains (GO Transit) which took us to downtown Toronto.
We then took another train to the airport, picked up the hotel shuttle and arrived in time to have dinner. There is a bar and grill in this hotel, so off we went. First off the food was great. The Bar / bartender needed a lot of work. Beer was okay, who can screw up beer right. Nothing on tap, but a bottle of Guinness called out to me. When I ordered a 2nd one I was told that they ran out!! I almost called the Irish Embassy.
Barb on the other hand had her usual Rye and Diet Coke (Pepsi). It came in a glass the size of a dixie cup!!! So next order was for a Caesar, a good Canadian drink. It came in a slightly bigger glass, but it was the colour of fruit punch. Tasted like water.
Barb called the waiter over saying that there was no flavour, hoping to maybe get more Worcestershire sauce or Tabasco. The waiter brought over another shot of Vodka and poured it in then left the table. Oh boy. So she goes up to the bar, and asks for more of those spicy liquids, He didn't understand what she was looking for, and said he didn't have any Worcestershire!! HOW DO YOU MAKE A CAESAR WITHOUT THAT STUFF????
So, as I said the food was excellent. We finished, paid our bill and walked up a block to Kelsey's, watched a few innings of the Blue Jay's game and had a couple of real drinks.
Tomorrow will be a long travel day, first to Edmonton, Alberta and then on to Whitehorse Yukon. We begin at 8 am here and hopefully will end our travel day about 1:30 am (Toronto time).
We will let everyone know how this goes in a couple of days.

The adventure begins! Looking forward to your updates!
