Remembering about patience when travelling

Travel can be fun, you get to chat with good people who are travelling to different places but you need to be patient.  We arrived at Toronto Airport at 8:30 am, 3.5 hours before departure. With the news of long lines we did not want to feel rushed. We had no issues, no line ups, and went straight in. Lots of time for a minute see a

. The flight to Edmonton was uneventful, a bit bumpy at times but we landed ahead of schedule.

We knew we had a 7 hour layover since the flight to Whitehorse was a once a day flight, at 9:10 pm. Our hope was to be able to check in get through security and have dinner at Boston Pizza in the airport. NOPE. The check in desk wasn't open which makes sense. Why staff the desk all day for a 9:10 pm flight.

So we decided to get a snack and a drink at a restaurant in the common area of the airport.

The Canadian Brewhouse worked as it really was the only place. So by 5pm we decided to leave to try to check in and get rid of these huge bags we are lugging around. Still no luck.

Finally, at 6pm local time we go back to the brewhouse for dinner.  Of course shortly after we order, the check in desk opens but no worries, we still have 3 hours before we leave.

After dinner is done, we check in and we realize that we are getting tired and the bags seem even heavier. But as I write this we are waiting in the gate area to board our last flight of the day to Whitehorse. We still have 2 hours before we leave.

There are two escalators here by our seats and the place is pretty empty. For the visually impaired, these  escalators are announcing to "please hold the handrail, mind your step yada yada yada" BUT they are out of sync by about1 second. So what we are really hearing is " Please hold Please hold, mind you step mind your step......." I'd almost rather listen to a Stompin Tom song.......ALMOST

So we sign off for today. We will spend our first day in Whitehorse, catching up on sleep and exploring our first day in the Yukon.
